From using my Blueprint, I was able to edit my resume easily and learn a lot about different careers. The layout of myBlueprint was helpful to me because it shows you everything you need for your resume and it makes a layout for you. I also liked how myBlueprint shows what is required for all kinds of careers and jobs. I used a word template to start my first resume, But I am going to continue to work on my resume using myBlueprint.
This month was a fairly slow month for me. I spent a majority of my time editing the O'Neill Promo video with Neil. We spent a lot of time on our video because it was our first time using Final Cut Pro and we were new to the Mac Lab. I think our video turned out very well and using Final Cut Pro was a challenging learning experience for me.
This week we had the pleasure to listen to Mr. Vargo teach us the basics of accounting. The timing of this presentation couldn't have been better. We are getting near the end of our entrepreneurship activities, but we have only been hearing one aspect of owning a business. After listening to Mr. Vargo talk to us about all the documents that need to be recorded just for money in a business was surprising. Unlike anyone we have talked to so far in this unit, Mr. Vargo really showed how important the management of money is in a business and I think that was my biggest take-away from his presentation to our class.
This week we listened to Tareq Hadhad. He answered all of our Flipgrid questions and gave us some insight into what it's like to run a chocolate business in Canada. I thought that it was quite interesting to hear Tareq's perspective on entrepreneurship. I also enjoyed hearing Tareq talk about Canada and how it was like for him as an immigrant, as well as the skills and life lessons he has gained. What I admire most about the Entrepreneurship Learning Series is that we've got to hear from many entrepreneurs who all have unique perspectives on how they promote their business and the struggles they faced to get to where they are.
